China Glaze Capitol Collection - Stone Cold

Hello world! Today I have a polish from China Glaze's Capitol Collection to show you. It's Stone Cold for District 2 - masonry, the only matte polish in the collection. Now personally, I don't find the matte finish very attractive so I just had to use a topcoat to give it some shine. I am a huge fan of the Hunger Games series (can't wait till Friday!) and was anticipating these polishes ever since we heard news of it on the interwebs. I have to say though that I thought the polishes would be a bit more spectacular, but overall I feel that they truly do capture the whole Hunger Games theme and represent each of the districts very nicely. Anyway! More pictures after the jump!

I don't have a mockingjay pin, so I had to make do with a different keychain!

I was going to try maybe a matte and glossy stripes design, but that didn't work out too well. So instead you can see the contrast between the two finishes. (And also my TI-84 in the background haha!)

And finally, 2 coats of Stone Cold with 1 coat Seche Vite Topcoat

So what do you guys think of Stone Cold? Have you purchased any of the polishes from this collection?  There are some really nice swatches out there in the blogger world, be sure to check them out for the full selection of colors! I have 1 more from this collection to show you and it is Agro - a metallic leafy/mossy green representing District 11 - agriculture. Stay tuned for that post, coming later this week!

Thanks for reading!
Mandy

  2. It's gorgeous. I love this polish. I ended up getting the entire collection even though there are a few shades that I'll probably never wear. OTL.
